Hi, my name is Kristina. I’m a Canadian graphic designer for over a decade. I’m skilled in various types of design like print, web and video. I try to learn about topics and skills that can enhance my career or interests. I write posts every once in a while, not daily and sometimes not weekly. I usually write about colours, movies, design and art.
The history I usually write about is the history of colours. The origins, theories and how we see and use colours are areas I like writing about. Sometimes there are about how the colours fit into daily life (Why is it called blue comedy anyways) or well-known colours with an extensive history (The dark history of arsenic greens). Most references are at the bottom of each post; it’s written on the bottom of the posts.
I also like writing about movies, giving reviews, commentaries and making movie marathon lists. These mini movie marathons are of directors, actors, animators or sometimes studios that would be great as a back-to-back weekend movie watching experience. These are usually movies that I have seen and think are interesting.
How-to tutorials are practices and skills that I have done before as a graphic designer. I am sharing technics that I have done numerous times on other projects that work. I’ll write down the step-by-step tutorials of what I have done that can be helpful as clearly and descriptive as possible.
Everything on this site will never be written by AI. It’s about researching and writing, not about copying and pasting what another website has said. I write for this website as a hobby, but I try to include references below each post unless it’s an opinion piece, like a movie review. I am not a research scientist or world-renowned historian who writes for universities. But I will always do my best to check and verify the information that I collect about any topic.
This blog is mostly written for fun with the references below each post. Please take it with a grain of salt. 🙂
